Holmes Chapel RFC is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of its members. The Club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators associated with the club should at all time show respect, should be encouraged to be open at all times, and to share any concerns they might have about any aspect of the Club with our appointed Committee Members.
All participants in the playing and coaching of the game and others accompanying players and in the running of the Club are expected to show care and consideration, and respect for the rules of the Club and the game of Rugby at all times.
Code of Conduct for Players / Members
Players are encouraged to:
Recognise and appreciate the efforts made by coaches, volunteers and committee members in providing the opportunity for you to play the game and enjoy the rugby environment. Understand the values of loyalty and commitment to their team mates and membership.
Players & Members should:
- Be attentive at all training and coaching sessions - training undertaken every Tuesday evening at the AP Club.
- Work equally hard for yourself and your team - both will then benefit.
- Recognise good play by all players on your team and by your opponents.
- Be a sportsman - win or lose.
- Play to the Laws of the Game and accept, without question, all referees’ decisions.
- Control your emotions. Verbal or physical abuse of team mates, opponents, match officials or is not acceptable
- Members must pay any fees or dues promptly - preferably at the beginning or end of the game
- To behave in a manner which brings credit to Holmes Chapel RFC.
- To show respect, good manners and sensible behaviour to all supporting bar tenders / staff whilst on the premises of the AP Club and show appreciation of their goodwill. Recognise that every individual has a right to expect their involvement in Holmes Chapel Rugby Club to be safe from all types of abuse and all should note that this will not be tolerated in any circumstances. To intervene where appropriate should behaviour of club members or visiting clubs membership be unsatisfactory or disrespectful. Indeed treat all individuals, as you would like to be treated.
